Early Learning

The purpose of the SDOC Department of Early Learning is to promote the development of language, social/emotional behaviors, and academic skills to eligible preschool children in need of early interventions.  Our Early Learning Programs are designed to help prepare our students for success in kindergarten.  The Early Learning team oversees the Child Find, Preschool Intervention Program and 4K programs and provides support to our kindergarten program.

K5 Kindergarten Program

Kindergarten builds an academic foundation aligned to SC standards, teaching skills and routines needed for 1st grade.

4K supports at-risk students by building a strong foundation for school success through early literacy, numeracy, and hands-on learning.

PIP is a free program for 3- and 4-year-olds with IEPs, offering individualized learning to build communication, motor, and cognitive skills.
